Introducing Reloadium Translate — AI conversations, real-time speech translation, and flashcard learning across 100+ languages

Reloadium Translate combines two modes in one app: AI-generated dialogues on any topic for immersive language practice, and instant text translation across 100+ languages. Add live spoken translation via the Gemini Live API, flashcard mode, native-quality speech synthesis, and local-only storage — and you have a language tool that goes well past a dictionary.

Two modes, one language tool

Most translation apps do one thing: they convert text from one language to another. Reloadium Translate is built around a different premise — that reading a translation is not the same as practising a language, and that practice requires exposure to natural, contextual language at volume.

The app ships two distinct modes:

  • Conversation Mode — describe a topic or scenario and the AI generates a realistic dialogue between two speakers in your target language, with a side-by-side translation. You choose the topic, the difficulty, and the register (casual, professional, travel). The result reads like a real exchange, not a textbook drill.
  • Translation Mode — instant text translation between any pair of the 100+ supported languages, including full right-to-left support for Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and others.
Both modes feed into the same learning flow: read, listen, test.

Speech synthesis and live spoken translation

Every output — generated dialogue or translated text — can be read aloud using the Web Speech API with smart voice selection that picks the most appropriate available voice for each target language. For most major languages this means a natural, near-native pronunciation rather than a robotic read-out.

Beyond that, Reloadium Translate includes live spoken translation powered by the Gemini Live Translate API: speak into your microphone and hear your words translated aloud in your target language in real time, with PCM audio streaming. This is the feature that makes the app useful in live situations — travel, meetings, presentations — rather than just at a desk.

Flashcard mode for active learning

Passive reading of translations is the lowest-leverage way to learn vocabulary. Reloadium Translate includes a flashcard mode that hides the translation in any generated conversation until you hover to reveal it. The mechanics are exactly those of spaced repetition without the scheduling overhead: you see the target-language sentence, attempt to recall or infer the meaning, then confirm. The discipline of not peeking is what makes it work.

Flashcard mode is toggled per-session, so you can switch between comprehension mode (translations always visible) and testing mode (translations hidden) without regenerating anything.

100+ languages, right-to-left support, locale detection

The language list covers all major European languages plus Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Swahili, and dozens more. BCP 47 locale detection is built in, so the right speech voice and text direction are applied automatically. You don't configure right-to-left rendering — the app detects it from the language and adjusts.

Save, export, review

Conversations and translations can be saved locally and exported as Markdown files — clean, portable, plain text you can open in any notes app or study tool. The full learning history stays in your browser via local storage; nothing is sent to a server beyond the on-demand generation request itself.

Who it's for

  • Language students who want reading and listening input in their target language without hunting for graded readers
  • Travellers who want to prepare real-situation conversations (ordering food, asking directions, hotel check-in) before they land
  • Professionals who need to translate documents or practise for meetings in a second language
  • Anyone who wants live cross-language conversation without a human interpreter
